Security & Data Features
Monitoring 24 / 7 - We monitor your NAS for any physical or software problems. We monitor all login activities and will block multiple login attempts from unrecognized IP addresses.
Active Backup for Business - Network computers are backed up automatically every 7 days.
Administrative NAS Access - is done by use of very strong passwords and Two-factor authentication (2FA) typically using your phone. This eliminates unauthorized access to your NAS.
Redundant Data Storage - All NAS employ dual drive Raid 1 minimum. Data is stored twice by writing them to both the data drive and a mirror drive. A second backup NAS is usually deployed so you have a second data copy on another media and redundant hardware.
Automatic Snapshots - Taken every hour snapshots allow you to roll files or complete directories to a hourly point going back 6 months. Easy replacement of damaged or lost files taking only a couple of minutes.
Automatic Data Backup - We backup all your data to your backup NAS. Daily backups allow you to roll back files or complete directories to a daily point going back 1 or 2 years. We follow the 3-2-1 backup strategy. 3 copies of data total with 2 local copies on different media and 1 offsite remote copy.
Our Cloud backup - You get the same security, ease of operation, and features as the Synology Cloud backup detailed next, with the additional privacy of your data being store on our Houts Designed private cloud server located at our facility in Nevada, and finally we backup our cloud server to an isolated high security server insuring two duplicates of all your data on two separate NAS systems. Active Clients get the Houts Designed Cloud backup for 1 terabyte of data at no charge. We handle the setup and administration of your Houts Designed private cloud backup.
Synology Cloud Data Backup - We can backup all your data to your Synology C2 secure cloud storage. Cloud backups are encrypted and additionally encrypted by your personal key. Daily backups allow you to roll files or complete directories to a daily point going back 1 or 2 years. Synology C2's Cloud - US co-location data center facilities have achieved comprehensive SOC 2 Type II certification, confirming it has strict procedures in place to keep user data secure.
LogonExpert - The AES 256 encryption algorithm protects your logon data with direct interaction with WinLogon secures your computer while locked and logging in.
Ransomware
Ransomware attacks number in the several thousand daily. Most Ransomware attacks now include making a copy of your data to leverage against your company with the threat of public release, and also the encryption of your network data to render it useless.
